Bollywood superstar Salman Khan today made an appearance in Jodhpur court for the hearing of the ongoing 1998 Black buck case. Blackbuck is an endangered animal and is considered with great reverence in Hindu tradition. Salman Khan is at Jodhpur for the identification parade there.
The Dabangg Khan was convicted and sentenced to one year prison term for poaching two Chinkaras at Bhawad and five year imprisonment for killing a blackbuck at Ghoda Farm (Mathania) in September 1998. The incident had taken place during the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya’s family entertainer Hum Saath Saath Hai in Rajasthan.
Salman had approached the High Court in 2007 requesting for a stay on his conviction by a trial court as he had to file a fresh application for a British visa. Last week the Supreme court reserved order on the case. Earlier on October 30, the prosecution eye witness had identified Bollywood actresses Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu before the court during the hearing of the case.
Apart from them, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is also named in the case, which was reported on September 27, 1998, in Kankani village near Jodhpur.
