Jaya Bachchan finds ‘Happy New Year’ a nonsensical film

Jaya Bachchan has slammed son Abhishek Bachchan’s latest blockbuster Happy New Year as nonsensical. The movie has won Abhi lots of critical acclaim for his role of Nandu Bhide in it. The veteran actress known to call a spade a spade
spoke her mind about Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s film Happy New Year while attending a literary event in Mumbai.
As per sources, Jaya Bachchan said, “’HNY’ is the most nonsensical film I’ve seen in recent years. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he’s a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that.”
Jaya further added that, “I can’t be part of what is being done in films these days and hence, I don’t do films anymore. Cinema today is about business, not art. We call good films art house cinema. What does that even mean? All cinema is art.”
Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ Stars a host of actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan, Happy New Year has got mixed reactions from the critics. But has goen on to mint at Box Office.
